About
TADS
COMMUNITY AMATEUR DRAMATICS THEATRE IN YOUR VILLAGE
TADS was originally founded in 1975 and entertained the village for many years. Unfortunately interest began to wane and the society was disbanded in 1987. In 1996 the Trustees were ready to dispose of the assets but a past member of the society Lawrie Woodley called a public meeting to generate interest to revive TADS.
The meeting was well attended and from it emerged a core group who formed the first new committee. A huge publicity drive was undertaken and eventually TADS started to perform once more. Terror in the Tower, a small melodrama, being the first public performance in 1997 followed in 1998 by the very first Pantomime – Babes in the Wood.
Since then TADS has continued to grow with productions becoming more demanding and adventurous giving a lot of people the chance to use their talents in so many ways…
